Beware And Be Safe
The other day I was on the internet and came across several lists of workplace safety tips and I thought it might be a good idea to provide you with a short list for your review.
Now these tips are really nothing new, but they are tips that will help ensure your workday is a safe one.
So, let’s look at the list.
- Be aware of your surroundings
- Keep your workspace clean and clear of clutter
- Get a good night’s sleep and take regular breaks
- Don’t take shortcuts on procedures
- Be aware of new safety procedures
- Report unsafe conditions
- Always wear personal protective equipment
- Stay sober and never take drugs that affect your ability to work safely
- For those of you working in cold climates, beware and be safe as frost and ice becomes in issue moving into fall, especially in the early morning hours.
To be clear, this is not a complete list of safety tips. But I believe it is one that will help keep everyone a little safer during your workday. If I tried to list every safety tip out there, I would never be able to fit them in just one of our Safety E-QuickTips.
I hope you’ll take some time and think about how each of these tips cold help protect you as you go through your workday today and in the weeks to come.
One more thing – did your company participate in the National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction last week? Whether you had your employees participate in a Fall Protection training course, held a safety meeting, or did anything else to help your employees recognize the hazards when working at heights, let OSHA know. Complete the questionnaire and download your Certificate of Participation here.
